Sky-City by Joyce Meck

"Sky-City" Watercolor by Joyce Meck

“Realism”

Joyce wants her work to walk off the canvas so to speak – whether painting or photography, she wants the viewer to become totally absorbed by the view. What interests her most is nature and her love of detail is evident in all her work.

Joyce started painting while living in the Hawaiian Islands. Her photography, at that time assisted as reference for her technically realistic painting, but has since taken on a life of it’s own. She is now a fine art photographer, as well as a fine art painter. When painting she favors watercolor, but uses it more like acrylics. Occasionally she uses dry pigments. Her photography is mostly high-definition panoramic images, printed on canvas.

Joyce graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with an Associate Degree and had been in the graphics industry from 1970 through 2009, developing ads, logos, brochures, slide presentations, signage and all types of print media.
